Welcome to The Carpet Stop! Locally owned and operated, we specialize in flooring of all types. We were founded in Austin, TX by a team with more than 50 years of shared mill experience working directly for the largest flooring manufacturers in the world.

These are experts in both the technical & design aspects of all the flooring products we offer, including commercial & residential carpet, hardwood, tile, laminate, luxury vinyl & more. Founded on Commitment
The Carpet Stop was founded in December 1996 by industry veterans Jim Tersigni and Bob Fuller, bringing together 54 years of combined carpet manufacturing experience. The two shared a clear vision: to create a full-service warehouse stocked with every type of flooring solution, available to the public at the lowest prices every day.
One year later, Matt York joined the team, and quickly became an integral part of the store’s success and growth. His dedication, expertise, and commitment to customer satisfaction helped strengthen the foundation Jim and Bob had built, and he continues to drive the company forward to this day.
From day one, these three commitments guided The Carpet Stop’s vision. First, to back our inventory and low pricing with the same high-end customer service expected from exclusive flooring stores. Second, to staff our showroom with well-trained flooring experts. Third, to provide a large selection of products available for next-day installation.
Today, we still stand by these same commitments. As a result, our small business has continued to grow—tripling the amount of product we carry and expanding our facilities to better serve our community.
